Maybank Commenced its Initial Cooperation Efforts by Visiting UMKT, Accompanied by Muhammadiyah Central Board Representative

umkt.ac.id, Samarinda - Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur (UMKT) received Maybank’s visitation to the campus, accompanied by The Muhammadiyah Central Board, at the Building G’s Conference Room on Monday (11/10). This event demonstrates the significance of fellowship and cooperation between financial institutions and educational institutions under the auspices of Muhammadiyah Society.

This visit was attended by The Leadership of Muhammadiyah Central Board, Vice Rectors of UMKT, and the representatives of Maybank. During the occasion, Vice Rector of Financial, General, and Asset Affairs, Praja Hadi Saputra, presented the history of the university's development, hoping that the institution will grow steadily and be supported by multiple stakeholders, including external organizations. He also emphasized the importance of the meeting as the beginning of strategic cooperation between UMKT and Maybank.

In his opening speech, Saad Ibrahim as the representative of the Muhammadiyah Central Board, emphasized the importance of Muhammadiyah values in building cooperation with external stakeholders. “Me-muhammadiyah-kan Maybank means to create the spirit of Muhammadiyah that benefits the general public. Muhammadiyah, as an institution, is large, considering all parties have their own roles in supporting the Dawah and education movement,” Saad Ibrahim stated.

On behalf of Maybank, its representative also presented its journey and history of the said financial institution. It explained that since 2013, Maybank has adopted the sharia-first approach as their basic financial services. The representative also introduced some of the services and products that are in line with the visions of Muhammadiyah Society.

Through this event, it is expected that a synergy between UMKT, The Muhammadiyah Central Board, and Maybank will open broad cooperation opportunities, especially in the fields of educational institution development, as well as the development of ummah’s economy.
