Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur (UMKT) is the result of the merger of STIKES Muhammadiyah Samarinda and STIE Muhammadiyah Samarinda, along with the addition of 10 new study programs. UMKT has two main campuses covering an area of 15 hectares. Campus 1 of UMKT is located at the Muhammadiyah Higher Education Complex, Jl. Ir. H. Juanda No. 15, and Campus 2 of UMKT is located at Jl. Pelita, Pesona Mahakam Complex. The educational activities at UMKT are supported by very adequate learning facilities, including representative classrooms, complete laboratories, and an information technology-based library.

STIKES Muhammadiyah Samarinda was established in 2009 with Institutional Accreditation B (Very Good)
