Assalamu’alaikum Warrahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

Alhamdulillah wa sholatu wassalamu ala rasulillah, we express our gratitude to the Almighty, as the government has granted permission to the Muhammadiyah Organization to establish a new university located in East Kalimantan named Muhammadiyah University of East Kalimantan (UMKT) through Decree Number 463/KPT/I/2017. In line with the characteristics of Muhammadiyah, UMKT is established to develop the dimensions of humanity in a balanced manner, encompassing moral-spiritual, intellectual, physical, and vocational skills. By fostering these comprehensive dimensions of humanity, UMKT is expected to become an alternative and superior educational center, capable of shaping Indonesians in accordance with the needs of the nation.

With the establishment of this new university, we invite the younger generation to learn and teach together by utilizing modern technology. We also invite seniors from Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, Muhammadiyah STIKES Samarinda, and Muhammadiyah STIE Samarinda, as well as from other educational institutions, to collaboratively create a conducive learning environment at the university. UMKT aims to realize responsible academic freedom, honesty, openness, equality, and non-discrimination, guided by moral education and Islamic faith. All of this is to build superior, religious, modern human resources who understand the nation's issues.

This is our educational vision, and we hope it serves as a means of self-improvement for the youth in East Kalimantan. Welcome to UMKT.
