UMKT Officially Kicked-Off Its Student Enrollment Program, Expecting 4.000 New Students for AY 2026/27

umkt.ac.id, Samarinda – Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur (UMKT) officially hosted the Grand Launching of its Student Enrollment Program for the 2026/2027 Academic Year on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Held at the Main Hall in Building E, the event coincided with a nationally certified seminar and was attended by the Rector, the Board of Vice-Rectors, the Board of Trustees, and deans from across the university. The atmosphere was vibrant, with hundreds of high school and vocational students from across Samarinda attending alongside their teachers.
The ceremony marked the formal start of the recruitment season, which began in December 2025 and is set to conclude in June 2026. As part of the launch, prospective students participated in a National Seminar featuring renowned speakers Ilham Modjo and Ayu Permatasari, who shared insights on the importance of communication and self-development skills for those transitioning into higher education.
Mursidah Nurfadilah, Chairperson of the Student Enrollment Committee, announced that UMKT is targeting 4,000 new admissions for the upcoming year. This goal follows a successful previous cycle, where the university enrolled 3,900 students. Mursidah also highlighted UMKT’s growing global appeal, noting that the campus currently hosts 11 active international students.
UMKT currently offers 26 study programs across 10 faculties, eight of which have achieved the prestigious "Unggul" (Excellent) accreditation. To cater to a globalized workforce, the university also provides dedicated International Classes in Management and Informatics Engineering.
“Beyond providing top-tier facilities, UMKT is committed to academic excellence. We continuously refine our learning outcomes to ensure we nurture the unique talents and interests of every student,” Mursidah stated.
In his remarks, UMKT Rector Prof. Muhammad Musiyam underscored the university’s rapid growth and global standing. He emphasized that UMKT is a world-class institution, backed by national accolades, international partnerships, and high global rankings driven by the contributions of its students and faculty.
“UMKT is a Gen Z-friendly campus. We strive to modernize our facilities and elevate our educational quality to ensure our alumni can compete—and lead—on both local and global stages,” Prof. Musiyam remarked.
The event concluded with a detailed presentation on enrollment procedures by Ade Ismail Ramadhan Hamid, Head of the UMKT Public Relations Office. The excitement remained high until the end, bolstered by a series of prize raffles for the student attendees.
This grand launch reinforces UMKT’s unwavering commitment to providing high-quality education and developing principled, world-class human resources for the future.
